Shariff Miller is an artistic collaboration between
photographer, Rosalind Miller, and artist/designer, Zakee Shariff. Their work is a display
of how two different mediums can work harmoniously together, complementing one another. By printing
photographic images and overlaying the surface with
silk-screen printed drawings, painting, digital layering, and
illustration, the pieces may be seen to gain another dimension; a more painterly quality.
Working in combination since 1998, the artists have exhibited around the world, including venues in London and Tokyo. Recent projects include:

LIGHT
It's been a long while since Zakee and Rosalind got together and made some art. Ros had some beautiful babies and is now back in the world of taking photos and collaborating with Zakee. For their most recent project, "Light", Ros photographed light cast through plastic gels. Zakee then created inky marbling textures by hand, and added them into sections of the photos, creating a feeling of movement within the spread of light.

FLORAL
While pregnant with her first child, Gloria, Rosalind photographed a series of plants and flowers, representing growth, form, beauty, and health. To these, Zakee added sacred geometric shapes and fine drawings, combining the naturally occurring patterns found in the flowers with precise, but also inherently organic, geometric patterns.

DUBAI
In 2005, Rosalind and Zakee took a trip to Dubai, where they were struck by the immense size and growth of the city and the speed at which it was becoming more Western in look. Rosalind photographed various areas of the city, to which Zakee added geometric drawings relating to Islamic patterns, representing a combination of the old Middle Eastern culture against the more Westernized development that is occurring now.
